Lansing
Senator Levin's regional office in Lansing serves the communities from the Indiana border to the middle of the state. The office, located in downtown Lansing across the street from the State Capitol, provides assistance to constituents and communities on issues involving the federal government.
The Lansing region is home to business and manufacturing industries, automotive production facilities, one of Michigan's two Big Ten universities, major health care systems, and agriculture.
Senator Levin has fought to keep industry in this area of Michigan, including efforts to ensure that Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards don't unfairly penalize American auto producers. He has helped to secure millions of federal dollars for agricultural research at Michigan State University, and he has helped to expand the availability of loans and technical assistance to small businesses. Senator Levin has fought for the health care concerns of the uninsured and under-insured, and he has worked to assure that the voices of citizens are heard during the long process of cleaning up polluted sites in Alma and St. Louis.
