Senator Levin's Traverse City office, located in downtown Traverse City, serves an 18-county region of the state forming the tip of Northern Lower Michigan. The office assists residents of this area with federal issues and works closely with local communities to promote economic development.

Northern Michigan is filled with scenic beauty and idyllic hideaways. From the majestic Sleeping Bear Dunes on Lake Michigan, to the rivers of the Huron-Manistee National Forests, to the shipwrecks of the Thunder Bay Sanctuary on Lake Huron, the region offers many opportunities to witness Michigan's wonders.

Some of Senator Levin's initiatives in the region include helping area hospitals to address rural health care issues; working with the Northern Lakes Economic Alliance on development of value-added agriculture initiatives; and assisting the Cherry Marketing Institute in strengthening Northwest Michigan's cherry industry. Senator Levin authored legislation that prevented the swap of public lands on South Fox Island. In Cadillac, Senator Levin worked closely with the city to retain a downtown post office. After a late freeze, Senator Levin helped provide cherry farmers with disaster relief. To help promote economic development, Senator Levin has assisted local airports such as Traverse City Cherry Capital, Pellston Regional and Manistee Blacker County in the development of new facilities.
