SERVING FAMILIES

As Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, I am committed to supporting the men and women who proudly serve in our nation's armed forces. Additionally, there are many members of our armed forces who are serving their country while living in Michigan as part of the National Guard and reserves.

With increasing numbers of our nation’s soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines being called to serve overseas, service members and their families need access to information that can help them while they or their loved ones are actively deployed.

Family Assistance Centers

American Red Cross – Armed Forces Emergency Services

The American Red Cross plays an important role in transmitting messages between service members and their families. The American Red Cross helps provide the military services with details about important family events that enable commanders to make timely decisions about emergency leave.
